Foiling is an innovative finishing method that adds that special, elegant effect to print materials. Whether it’s used for book covers, wedding stationery, office stationery, business cards, packaging or bespoke print, foiling and special effects films can certainly highlight the distinctiveness of your product.
Whilst ordinary foiling equipment uses dies or customised blocks to create foil finishes, our cutting-edge machines use pressurised pneumatic rollers so we can produce print proofs and bespoke print in-house fast and economically. The foiling is applied on top of soft touch laminate with gold and silver being the main foil types. Copper, red, blue and spot UV are also available.
What does this mean for you? It means we can now deliver on-demand prints with top quality design effects at a fraction of the cost of traditional foiling methods. You can choose from a wide variety of foils including red, blue or metallic colours including copper, silver and gold, as well as clear gloss for spot UV finishes, also known as spot varnish.
Spot varnish has become a particularly popular technique to make print products such as cards, presentations and book covers distinctive. As the name suggests, a spot varnish is a type of finishing method that places varnish on just a portion of the print. The varnish may be glossy or matte but always serves to stylishly emphasise text or photos.
